Sloan “All Your Handsome Words”
This may not be a definitive Sloan best-of — there are a few hits missing and I entirely skip two of the band’s albums — but I do believe this mix gets across what I enjoy about their music, and stands as a strong career overview. What to expect: Hooks, harmonies, grooves, songs that get stuck in your head for days. If you like power pop, you’re going to find at least a few songs to love in this set. If you’re into this stuff, please do buy some Sloan albums directly from the band.

It just kinda happened that way.
<3 <3 <3 No really, I’ve been in love with this band for about a decade now. The fact that everyone isn’t, that their Maxwell’s show a couple weeks ago wasn’t even sold out (Maxwell’s!), is completely incomprehensible to me. Would I put an entirely different set of songs on a mix I made? Probably! Are these all great songs? Yes. They’re that consistent.
