Chisel - “Your Star is Killing Me” at Twisters, 1995
Video & sound quality is terrible and you probably shouldn’t bother but let me just tell you:
- This is one of my favorite songs in the history of songs AND EVERYTHING.
- Ted Leo in a turtleneck!
- Hopefully I can sing this at Ted Leo karaoke, right? COME ON.
- Commenter 1: “Hey! That bass player is my uncle! I never thought his old college band would be on YouTube. Go figure.” Commenter 2: “hah his “old college band” contained one of the greatest songwriters of modern history and released two phenomenal albums. Tell him the internet says hi.”
- you — You make me feel that I’m vaguely in touch with the scene that I’m throwing you.
Can we do a duet? You could probably still handle most of the vocals, because I’d likely just jump around the stage the entire time like I’m eighteen and we’re in my dorm room at St. John’s. And if they offer “On Warmer Music,” I’ll just take that one.
